Unearth antiquarian books at the Cour Mably
This weekend, the Cour Mably and its superb chapter house become the setting for the Salon du Livre ancien. A veritable institution in the heart of the Golden Triangle, this fair brings together some twenty specialist booksellers from all over France. Recycling your Christmas tree
While there’s still Epiphany to celebrate over a galette des rois, the festive season is well and truly over. And it’s a safe bet that your Christmas tree is starting to look a bit peaky in the living room. Good news: until February 1, the City of Bordeaux is collecting Christmas trees for recycling and composting. There are 46 collection points where you can drop off your tree (without decoration).

Experience an Enchanted Winter at Bois Bouscat

For a poetic getaway this weekend, head to Bois du Bouscat for the launch of the Nouvelles Racines event (formerly l’Hiver Enchanté). This artistic project transforms the woods into a living museum where works evolve with the seasons. The new edition kicks off on Friday, December 19, from 7pm to 11pm, with a festive evening. Galerie TENTÖ is organizing a singular exhibition in December to celebrate local creativity. Sixteen Bordeaux-based artists present over 120 original works, all conceived in the emblematic trading card format. Notable contributors include Charles Foussard, Naïf and Mr. Kern. The CARDZ exhibition aims to highlight the richness and diversity of the region’s artistic techniques, from watercolor to oil, through an approach that is both playful and accessible to the public.

Plunge into the Ghibli universe in front of Aubusson’s new tapestry

Following on from Princesse Mononoké, a new monumental creation 3 metres high and 5.6 metres wide, straight out of one of Miyazaki’s masterpieces, is being unveiled for a few months only in Bordeaux. The Bordeaux Conservatory is home to the new hanging “The Fear of Hauru”, the fruit of a partnership between Studio Ghibli and the Cité Internationale de la Tapisserie d’Aubusson. A unique and technical masterpiece not to be missed.

After a dazzling reception at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, the Rammellzee Alphabeta Sigma exhibition is now on show in Bordeaux for its 2nd installment (Face B). Join us at CAPC to discover the world of iconic shadow artist Rammellzee. A genius of his time, he left his mark on New York hip-hop culture with his many talents. From MC to painter, sculptor and theorist, he developed visionary concepts and futuristic graffiti. An exhibition of over a hundred works in an immersive scenography by Pascal Rodriguez.
