The Public Garden

Why not come and breathe in the soul of Bordeaux in a lush green oasis right in the heart of the city? The Jardin Public is 11 hectares of tranquility and charm immersed in nature. Stroll beneath the century-old trees, follow the stream lined with pale stone, and encounter joggers, ducks, and happy children. And above all, come take a little nap on the lawn in the shade of the trees! Designated a “Remarkable Garden,” it’s also home to the Orangery, the Museum, a botanical garden, and the legendary Guignol Guérin theater. The Parc Bordelais

Bourran Park

Want to get off the beaten path? Head to Parc Bourran, a botanical treasure just a few minutes from downtown! This 18-hectare oasis takes you on a journey with its plant species from all corners of the world. Around the pond and water features, swans and ducks glide peacefully through a postcard-perfect setting, while the majestic Château Bourran, a listed historic monument, watches over this haven of calm and beauty. The Parc aux Angéliques

Fancy a nature break with a view of the Garonne? The Parc aux Angéliques awaits you on the right bank this time! With its 3.5 km of walking paths, it connects the Saint-Jean Bridge to the Chaban-Delmas Bridge in a lush setting. Here grows a rare and protected plant: the estuarine angelica, a botanical treasure unique in the world, hence its name! With its peaceful paths, panoramic views of the riverbanks, and soothing atmosphere, it offers a complete change of scenery. An integral part of the Corajoud Promenade, it completes a beautiful urban escape between the two banks. As you can see, it’s a place to discover and rediscover! And right next door, you can extend the adventure in the botanical garden!
The Botanical Garden
Where can you see cacti, water lilies, and carnations growing side by side? At the Botanical Garden, of course! Though less popular for strolls, this space is nevertheless ideal for escaping the city’s hustle and bustle and soaking up nature. Stroll through the 1,250 m² of the water garden,the arboretum, or the greenhouses filled with exotic plants. In addition to discovering the 1,700 plant species, including rare plants, take a break on the lawn in the shade of a tree.
Majolan Park

Looking for a fairytale setting just a stone’s throw from Bordeaux? Head to Majolan Park in Blanquefort. With its mysterious grottos, rock-style bridges, and enchanting lake, the stroll feels like a waking dream. The Parc de l’Ermitage Sainte-Catherine

Born from the redevelopment of a former industrial wasteland, the Parc de l’Ermitage Sainte-Catherine is now one of the most unique natural spaces in the Bordeaux metropolitan area. On a different note, there’s a garden in the heart of the Chartons neighborhood maintained by local residents’ associations. A natural space spanning over 8,000 m² that has been redesigned over time since its creation in 2003. The Jardin de ta Sœur welcomes young and old alike to a green space where art and a friendly atmosphere also abound. Fruit trees, a dog park, playgrounds, and picnic tables make it the perfect spot for a pleasant family outing. The Barails Ecological Reserve

North of Bordeaux, nearly 160 hectares of nature await you for a rejuvenating stroll. Designed as a space where biodiversity and human activities coexist, the Barails Ecological Reserve is characterized by diversity. You’ll find flowers, a vineyard, streams, and even a heron island! The trails winding through the woods invite you to take a stroll or engage in sports, while the meadows, maintained by grazing animals, offer a living spectacle throughout the seasons. A true green lung, the reserve is now the city’s largest natural area.
