La Belle Endormie is not so sleepy during the holidays! Between the Christmas markets, the New Year’s Eve party and the illuminations, many Bordeaux residents and visitors travel by public transport during the vacations. To avoid unpleasant surprises, this guide gives you all the keys you need to plan your journeys in Bordeaux on December 31st and January 1st .
Buses and streetcars all night on New Year’s Eve
For New Year’s Eve, the TBM network is putting in place a special system to facilitate night-time travel. Between December 31, 2025 and January 1, 2026, streetcars will be running throughout the night.
Occasional interruptions on tramway lines on New Year’s Eve
However, tram traffic will be suspended on certain sections of the network. From 6pm onwards, several stops will no longer be served, and alternative bus routes will be offered.
Streetcar A
- Running all night between Le Haillan Rostand and Buttinière stations.
- Interruption between Buttinière and Gardette-Bassens-Carbon-Blanc from 11 p.m. to 2.30 a.m. No substitute buses.
Streetcar B
- All-night service between La Cité du Vin and Pessac Centre / France Alouette stations.
- Interruption between Cité du Vin and Berges de la Garonne from 11 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. No relay buses.
Streetcar C
- Runs all night between Quinconces Fleuve and Gare Saint-Jean stations.
- Interruption between Parc des expositions – Stade Atlantique and Quinconces Fleuve from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m. A relay bus will be provided.
- Another interruption between Gare Saint-Jean and Villenave Pyrénées from 11 p.m. to 2.30 a.m.. No relay bus. Transfer to Lianes 5, 15 and 35, which run until 2 a.m.
Streetcar D
- Runs all night between Mairie du Bouscat and Gare Saint-Jean stations.
- Traffic interrupted between Gare Saint-Jean and Carle Vernet as well as Cantinolle and Mairie de Bouscat from 11 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. No replacement buses.
Streetcar E
- All-night service between Quinconces and Cenon Gare stations.
- Interruption between Gare de Blanquefort and Quinconces from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m., with relay bus.
- Further interruption between La Morlette and Floirac Dravemont from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m. Extended interruption to Cenon Gare between 11 pm and 2:30 am. No replacement buses.
Streetcar F
- Runs all night between Aéroport and Gare Saint-Jean stations.
- Interruption between Gare Saint-Jean and Gare de Bègles from 11 pm to 2:30 am.
- No substitute buses. Transfer to Lianes 5, 15 and 35, which run until 2 a.m.
On January 1st, streetcar timetables will be those for Sundays and public holidays.
Bus service also reinforced on New Year’s Eve
In addition, the usual bus routes will run later on December 31:
- Lianes 5, 15 and 35 will run until 2am.
- Express buses G and H, other Lianes and line 26 will run until 1am.
- The flex’NIGHT service will run with departures at 2am and 4am.
- The TBNight line will run from 1.30 a.m. to 5.30 a.m.
On January 1, buses will also run on Sunday and public holiday schedules.
