Christmas is here and all you want to do is stay warm under your plaid and try on your freshly opened presents? Not a chance! Once again this year, the city of Bordeaux has a warm, illuminated winter in store for you! Put on your coats, we’re about to share with you our best plans for going out in Bordeaux this Christmas with the whole family!
Admire the lights on the façade of the Grand Théâtre
Christmas without lights just isn’t Christmas. This year, “Bordeaux en scène” will illuminate the city every evening from 5:30 p.m. to midnight until January 5, 2025. Magical lights will illuminate Bordeaux and the façade of the Grand Théâtre for a unique sound and light show! You’re welcome to come back with your friends, your family or even your kids – we never get tired of it!
Fondue at La Meule du Berger
If there’s one thing worth braving all the weather for, it’s melted cheese (and chocolate, but more on that later). Just the thing: La Meule du Berger welcomes you in a cozy, warm atmosphere of wooden walls and delicious cheese smells. On the menu: raclettes of all kinds, fondues, crusts and local wine, of course. Bon appétit!

Attend a candlelight concert with Candlelight
It’s a winter classic: Candlelight candlelit concerts continue to amaze us with their classic covers of our favorite music. In an intimate setting, illuminated by hundreds of candles, rediscover your favorite artists, from Queen to ABBA and Coldplay to Vivaldi. A moment of pure magic.
Hot chocolate at Henriette and Olga’s
When the rain is falling, what could be more comforting than a good hot chocolate? Christophe and Dimitri, who created their café Henriette et Olga in homage to their grandmothers, understand this. With three hot chocolates on the menu, including one with your choice of chantilly – caramel sauce – crunch, you’ll have no choice but to give in to temptation. Your mouth is watering just thinking about it!

Stroll around the Allées de Tourny Christmas Market
In the mood for a little digestive stroll? Well, Bordeaux has the best Christmas market around! Once again this year, it’s set up in the heart of the city, on the Allées de Tourny. With local designers, entertainment and mouth-watering confectionery, it’s the perfect opportunity to combine the useful with the pleasurable, spending some quality time with the family while doing a bit of shopping. On view until December 29.

Skiing in Ax les Thermes
Granted, it’s not next door. But Ax les Thermes is well worth the three-and-a-half-hour drive. Renowned as one of the most beautiful resorts in the Pyrenees, the ski area covers no less than 110 hectares, divided into three sectors. A godsend for lovers of skiing and beautiful panoramas!
