This architectural masterpiece, which has become one of the city’s emblems, is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. 10 years of the Cité du Vin: a retrospective on a daring venture that has become a global icon
Inaugurated in 2016 under the impetus of Alain Juppé and Sylvie Cazes, the Cité du Vin has transformed the former Bassins à Flot into a must-see cultural and tourist center. Designed by XTU Architects , its iconic building evokes the movement of wine and the swirls of the Garonne River. An architectural feat ranked among the best museums in the world by National Geographic. In ten years, this unique venue has welcomed more than 3.5 million visitors, establishing itself as the largest center dedicated to universal heritage and wine civilizations across the globe.
A special program for a vintage anniversary

This historic success adds to the significance of the festivities organized around the 10th anniversary of the Cité du Vin. The program promises total immersion through tasting workshops, culinary discoveries, and themed after-work events. Visitors will also be able to enjoy temporary exhibitions, including the immersive Via Sensoria experience, as well as “Cinés gourmands” (gourmet cinema), meetings, and fascinating conferences.

- Friday, February 13, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.: Symposium, Does wine have a future without culture?
- Sunday, March 1, at 4 p.m.: Wine and Pastry Tasting with the panoramic restaurant Le 7
- Tuesday, April 21, at 7:30 p.m.: Dinner at the panoramic restaurant Le 7, to support the cultural programming of the Cité du Vin
- Thursday, April 30, at 6:30 p.m. & 8:30 p.m.: After-work Aperitif Wines
- Thursday, June 4 at 6:30 p.m. & 8:30 p.m.: After-work tasting to celebrate the 2016 vintage
- Tuesday, June 16 at 7:00 p.m.: In-depth interview with Sylvie Cazes, President of the Cité du Vin
The highlight of this celebration will be a weekend of festivities starting on June 6, 2026. The detailed program is not yet available, but La Cité du Vin has already announced a variety of family-friendly activities. Children will be able to participate in a giant coloring mural or KAPLA building workshops. Older guests will be invited to original and festive tasting workshops.
