Let yourself be swept away by urban, Latin, pop, and rock rhythms, because once again this year, the banks of the Garonne are transforming into an open-air dance floor. From July 14 to August 2, the must-see“Dansons sur les Quais” festival brings Bordeaux to life with a festive and warm “ ” atmosphere. True to the spirit of Bordeaux, this new edition promises to be an exceptional “ ”!
A must-see event for dance lovers
Founded in 2004,Dansons sur les Quaishas become one ofthe iconic eventsof the Bordeaux summer. This participatory,intergenerationalfestival celebrates dance in all its forms. The goal is simple:to make dance accessible to everyone, whether you’re a beginner, just curious, or a passionate dancer. The event allows everyone to try their hand at, practice, and discover different dance styles in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
Both during the day and in the evening, the festival’s events take place outdoors, in the magnificent setting of the banks of the Garonne River. As you can see, everything is in place for you to have a wonderful time! More than 200 artists and teachers from 60 schools, troupes, and associations will generously share their passion.
Highlights and Access Information
From July 14 to August 2, the festival takes over Bordeaux and offers a variety of activities and evening events open to all audiences. Salsa, rock, tango, kizomba, hip-hop, swing, Middle Eastern, and traditional dances are all on the program, with several highlights:
- Free introductory classes: Every day, instructors lead classes open to everyone (beginners or experienced dancers), whether you’re dancing as a couple or solo.
- Major themed evenings: from 8:00 p.m. to midnight, the dance floor comes alive with themed nights (Rock, Kizomba, Salsa, Country, etc.) where dancers can dance freely to the beats of the DJs.
- Performances: Several dance demonstrations are organized throughout the festival.
- The big celebration on July 14: featuring concerts, performances, and DJ sets to celebrate Bastille Day with singing and dancing.
Introductory sessions are free and open to all. However, some evenings andshowsare priced between €5 and €7 or included in the full pass for €25. In these cases, reservations must be made on the Dansons sur les Quais website.
