In December, the historic building will be stripped of its usual garb to don its Christmas costume, the result of an enchanting collaboration with JouéClub. Get ready: childhood is back in full swing, and the capital of Gironde offers itself an absolutely unique spot of wonder.
An immersion that awakens the child’s soul
Far from overloaded shop windows, Château Descas seems to remember its own magic. Imagine four-metre-high fir trees, giant bears to cuddle, and a tide of soft lights that transform the old stones into a warm setting. More than just an exhibition of toys, it’s an invitation to reawaken your childlike soul. Playfulness, laughter, lightness… it’s all there.
Even the real Santa Claus has taken up residence at Château Descas. Children can drop their letters in the official box, and whisper their best wishes in his ear.
Enchanting shows and entertainment
The experience doesn’t stop with the fairytale decor. A whole range of entertainment will make the eyes of the youngest and nostalgic parents sparkle. The castle will vibrate to the rhythm of activities inspired by the most beloved universes: LEGO, Disney and Harry Potter.
But the heart of the magic will be in the Cinéma Enchanté! From December 21 to 23, make yourself comfortable for a program of cult cartoons that have lulled generations to sleep. On the program: Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King and even The Snow Queen. It’s the perfect time to share a hot chocolate and those precious moments of laughter.
The Théâtre du Château Descas also celebrates Christmas on December 23, plunging spectators into the imaginary world of Alice in Wonderland. An original creation in which choreography, dance and theater bring a fantastic universe to life. With influences from Disney, Tim Burton and Royal Ballet, the artists offer a unique journey for young and old alike.
