Bordelais, but French above all! The baguette is much more than a staple food. In France, it’s a fashion accessory in its own right (in Emily in Paris, anyway). With its deliciously dense, airy crumb and crisp, golden crust, bread is definitely worth an article! However, good bread isn’t found at the flick of a (magic) wand. To mark the occasion, Bordeaux Secret has scoured the best bakeries to concoct a top 5 list of the crunchiest!
1. Maison Lamour
Maison Lamour
Winner of M6’s “La meilleure boulangerie de France” a few years ago, Maison Lamour continues to make us dream with its bread. In addition to its appetizing window display, the artisan baker knows how to make us salivate with its impressive variety of breads! Pure spelt, Norwegian bread, Terron (with buckwheat) Rye with fruit (pistachios, figs, raisins…), or Pain aux pistoles de chocolat will delight the palate of lovers of good crumb. A last-minute aperitif? Pain du Soleil (Ciabatta with olives, capers and sun-dried tomatoes), Tibetan (Timut pepper and honey), or Petits Pains Burgers will save the day!
