Feathers, costumes, cabaret tunes, and hundreds of legs rising in unison. On Wednesday, September 30, 2026, the Miroir d’eau will become the stage for a one-of-a-kind show. L’Ange Bleu is organizing a massive cabaret with an ambitious goal: to set the world record for the French Cancan. A dazzling event open to everyone and completely free.
An XXL show at the foot of the Palais de la Bourse

For one day, Bordeaux will take on the atmosphere of a grand open-air cabaret. More than 200 artists will take over the Place de la Bourse and the Miroir d’eau. The event will begin at 11 a.m. with the artists’ arrival for their final rehearsals.
Then it’s showtime with two performances, at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.! Brass bands and a DJ set will set the tone with some great classics from the cabaret repertoire, such as “Lady Marmalade” and “La vie est un grand Cabaret.” Magicians, singers, and burlesque dancers will then take the stage. A spectacular vehicle inspired by the Eiffel Tower will complete this setting, which is unexpected to say the least.
Completely free and open to everyone—mark your calendars! Head to the Miroir d’eau for an XXL dance performance that might just make it into the Guinness World Records!
An unprecedented mobilization
Behind this major event lies a true mobilization of the cabaret community in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. L’Ange Bleu, which is coordinating the event, has brought together 9 cabarets from the region. Alongside them, 6 dance schools and 3 touring troupes will also participate in this exceptional day. It’s a way to bring together the various players in the regional performing arts scene on a single stage.
The event is part of the “Cabaret Season” sponsored by the Ministry of Culture. It also aligns with the “Cabaret Plan” and the goal of highlighting this artistic world. Beyond the spectacular challenge, this day therefore carries a cultural heritage mission. It aims to contribute to the recognition of the French Cancan as living heritage and to support its nomination forinclusion in UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
On September 30, be sure to stop by the Miroir d’eau. Bordeaux could very well make history with the French Cancan… with plenty of panache!
