Bordeaux is brimming with hidden shopping gems. You can stroll among the fashion boutiques on Promenade Sainte-Catherine, the home decor shops at Centre Mériadeck, or the brownie bars in the city center. Yet, an unusual new opening is set to steal the show on Rue des Bahutiers. A pop-up store entirely dedicated to the legendary Studio Ghibli is opening its doors! Starting March 27, longtime fans and curious visitors alike are invited to this enchanted escape. A true slice of Japan brought to the Gironde.
The temple of a cult universe
Conceived by Shikigami Shop, the pop-up store will be set up in the heart of Bordeaux from March 27 to April 26. For one month, young and old alike will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a world steeped in nostalgia and magic.
Renowned worldwide for its animated films with a unique aesthetic and deeply human stories, Studio Ghibli has left its mark on several generations. This store offers an extension of the experience beyond the screen, through a wide selection of items inspired by its most iconic works. Totoro plush toys, Jiji pillows, The Walking Castle engraved glasses, Kiki’s Delivery Service puzzles, or Spirited Away mugs. In total, more than 600 official products will be available.
Much more than a shop: a dreamlike stopover

More than just a retail space, this pop-up has been designed as a true experience. The goal? To offer a timeless moment where the imagination, creativity, and tenderness unique to the Ghibli universe take center stage.
This is a first-of-its-kind event for Bordeaux. For the first time, the city is hosting a space entirely dedicated to the Japanese studio. It’s the perfect opportunity for pop culture enthusiasts to treat themselves to a unique immersion, without leaving the cobblestone streets of Bordeaux.
