In our search for charming, intimate terraces in Bordeaux, we came across one at a brasserie nestled in the heart of the Chartrons. Perfectly shaded and cut off from the hustle and bustle of the city, the terrace at Patro de Jeannot reveals itself as a hidden gem you’d want to keep all to yourself. Between relaxation, homemade dishes, and sunny activities, we settle in to enjoy the beautiful days in a friendly atmosphere.
A hidden terrace in the heart of Les Chartons
It’s while strolling through the Chartons neighborhood that you come across this yellow entrance: the gate to US Chartons. Because it’s right within the grounds of this association that Le Patro de Jeannot brasserie is hidden. Once through the gate, you discover a lush, shaded terrace that instantly invites you to relax.
At lunchtime, we settle into colorful chairs under the pergola to enjoy the weekly menu. On Thursday afternoons, we opt instead for a moment of relaxation on one of the lounge chairs, lulled by the scent of jasmine. And for those who prefer to get active, head to the pétanque court, the foosball table, or one of the themed parties. Karaoke, blind test, or even a murder mystery party: you’ll never get bored at Patro de Jeannot!
A sunny menu and tapas

On the plate, colors and flavors come alive. With a menu that adapts to the seasons and changes weekly, the brasserie’s offerings are thoughtfully crafted and satisfying. Fresh, carefully selected ingredients come together in homemade dishes that exude authenticity. Here, Mediterranean flavors blend with more international inspirations, much to the delight of our taste buds. Organic eggplant involtini, lamb kefta, pan-seared pollock, or marinated black mullet ceviche: we’d happily go back every week! Not to mention the generous burgers served with house-made fries and the tapas on Thursday and Friday evenings.
The desserts follow the same theme with gourmet, expertly crafted creations. From tonka bean flan with organic blueberries to chocolate and sesame tartlets, and a pavlova with organic kiwi and Granny Smith apples, those with a sweet tooth will be delighted.
A pleasant surprise awaits on the bill as well, with a starter + main course or main course + dessert combo for €20. Meanwhile, the full course is available for just €25.
