Sunshine and music of every kind: in summer, the “Sleeping Beauty” of the Gironde reveals its most festive side! Whether it’s electronic, rock, reggae, or pop—here are the must-see festivals in the capital of the Gironde.
Bordeaux Open Air Festival
A must-attend event in Bordeaux, the Bordeaux Open Air Festival returns on July 5 for a new edition. Green spaces will be transformed into giant dance floors over five dates you’ll want to mark on your calendars. The festivities kick off on July 5 at Square Dom Bedos and continue on July 12 at Parc de Mussonville in Bègles, featuring Marco del Bosque and Romain FX. On August 2, Housework, DIVA DIVA, and Tatie Dee will take over Parc Bourran. In September, head to Parc Teulon on the 6th, then to Parc Bordelais for the closing event on the 13th, featuring LEEN, Coffiiz, and Fasme on the decks.
Bien Sage Festival by Banzaï Lab

Among the must-see highlights of the Bordeaux scene, don’t miss the debut of the Bien Sage Festival. Organized by the Banzaï Lab collective, this new event takes over the Quai Deschamps to celebrate fifty years of Sound System culture and community. Blending tradition and modernity, the festival showcases a resolutely contemporary hybrid dub sound. It’s the perfect opportunity to come together and groove to eclectic sets mixing reggae, techno, drum & bass, and hip hop.
Les Francofolies
Like Garorock, the Francofolies need no introduction! Every summer in July, La Rochelle hosts this exceptional festival, which draws crowds of festivalgoers to celebrate music in a one-of-a-kind setting! For the 2026 edition, artists such as Orelsan, Gims, and Aya Nakamura will take the stage—and we’re not even giving you all the details yet about their (mostly French-speaking) lineup, which is pure MADNESS!
Osmose Festival
The Osmose Festival takes place on July 11 and 12 in the sumptuous setting of Château Formont. Get ready to immerse yourself in an electric atmosphere where you can completely unwind. Between DJ sets featuring heavy, pulsating beats, you can enjoy a massivepool party to celebrate summer in style. An event that perfectly combines the magic of a historic venue with the wild energy of the region’s best parties.
Lovely Brive Festival
Head to Corrèze for the long-awaited return of the Lovely Brive Festival. This year’s impressive lineup showcases big names from the French and international scenes: from Katy Perry’s global pop hits toAya Nakamura’s must-hear tracks, not to mention the wild riffs of Skip the Use. Between concerts, you can enjoy chill zones and local food trucks for a complete and friendly festival experience.
Astroshow Open Air

Pay-what-you-want concerts? That’s the concept behind the AstroShow Open Air Festival, which returns to Bordeaux in July. Get ready for three days of outdoor music featuring no fewer than 12 live artists. An eclectic lineup spanning indie-dance, psychedelic pop-rock, noise, and darkwave.
Musicalarue

Are you ready for an extraordinary experience? Every year, Musicalarue returns to bring excitement to the small village of Luxey in the heart of the Landes region. From July 31 to August 2 , 2025, no fewer than 90 bands, companies, and troupes will perform on Musicalarue’s stages. This year, artists like UB40, Jean-Louis Aubert, and Keny Arkana will get the many festivalgoers dancing! The added bonus? In addition to the festival, Musicalarue brings the village’s narrow streets to life with street performances!
Biarritz Hall Music Festival
Head to Biarritz for a musical event featuring a powerful and unique stage design. For its 5th edition, the Biarritz Hall Music Festival will have us grooving to 100% Shatta, Raga, and Dancehall sounds on Friday with Bamby, Jayhanai, and La Capsula. On Saturday, we’ll be swept away by a House and electro-techno lineup featuring Malaa, Mercer, and GrossoModdo.
Pagaille Festival

A newcomer bursting onto the summer festival scene, the event is expected to draw no fewer than 40,000 to 50,000 attendees to Place des Quinconces in late August. With headliners ranging from The Cure to Kittin, Slowdive, Charlotte de Witte, and Boris Brejcha, it’s going to be a wild ride!
Climax Festival
A festival to raise awareness about current social, environmental, and political issues? That’s the mission of Climax, which combines music, talks, art, and social engagement at Darwin Écosystème in Bordeaux. It’s a socially conscious event where attendees explore these issues and share solutions for the future in a friendly and festive atmosphere.
