The Christmas Market Returns to Place des Quinconces
Place des Quinconces will once again be decked out in its most beautiful lights! From November 27 to December 27, 2026, the Bordeaux Christmas Market makes its grand return in an atmosphere that’s as magical as it is exhilarating.
For a month, the capital of the Gironde will host around a hundred wooden chalets, giving you plenty of opportunities to stroll among the stalls, find some gifts, and enjoy the warm holiday atmosphere. You can also enjoy numerous artistic performances and Christmas attractions, while the more creative among you can participate in craft workshops.
Bordeaux Christmas Market: About 100 market stalls
For the 2026 edition, visitors and shoppers alike will find over a hundred vendors. It’s a wonderful opportunity to stroll among the chalets and unearth a few hidden gems to slip under the tree. From crafts and jewelry to clothing, beauty products, home decor, leisure items, and even nativity figurines—you’ll have no shortage of gift ideas. Stands run by local organizations and pop-up artisans will also be part of the event.
And since Christmas is also all about indulging in delicious treats, several food stands will let you take a break between shopping trips. Because the magic of the holidays also lies in the sweetness of a waffle or the aroma of a good mulled wine.
Creative Workshops and Magical Performances
Want to take home a handmade creation instead of a store-bought gift? Cabins dedicated to creative workshops will welcome visitors at the market’s main entrance. Open to everyone, these workshops require registration. From ceramic painting and candle-making to jewelry-making and repoussé metalwork, there will be plenty of opportunities to express your creativity!
Place des Quinconces will also host performances and artistic activities. Stilt walkers, musicians, acrobats, and colorful characters will delight young and old alike.
A scavenger hunt to discover Bordeaux’s shops
The magic of Christmas will also take over the streets of Bordeaux with a scavenger hunt organized by Bordeaux Mon Commerce. How does it work? Set out in search of 7 collectible Christmas postcards for a chance to win gift cards valid at participating stores. Scattered throughout participating shops, the postcards are available with any purchase, with no minimum spend required.
