Spring’s fine weather is on its way, and we’re already starting to look for the best terraces to hide away from the crowds, the daily grind and work! Luckily, at Bordeaux Secret, we love to go in search of our city’s nuggets, especially when it comes to terraces where you can enjoy a drink with friends or meet new people. So if you’d like to relax somewhere a little less crowded, here’s a list of Bordeaux’s most intimate terraces!
1. Frida
In the heart of old Bordeaux, the bustling Rue Buhan has its own haven of peace. At Frida, you’ll enjoy chilling out in the interior garden, with its country-style decor and chic guinguette spirit, and forget the hustle and bustle for a while. Tapas, bistronomic cuisine, wines and a special mention for cocktails. Enough to satisfy all gourmets and those with a thirst for novelty!
📍27-29 rue Buhan 33000 Bordeaux.
2. La belle saison
A little corner of greenery nestles on the right bank. In the heart of a bucolic setting with a garden on the banks of the Garonne, with a panoramic view of historic Bordeaux, or in the cabanon with its feet in the water, La Belle Saison offers tasty cuisine in a tapas and bistro atmosphere… Resolutely, a place to spend time in fine weather if your credo is: “In May, do as you please”.
📍75 Quai des Queyries, 33100 Bordeaux
3. Les Tables Vatel
On the Cours du Médoc, you’ll find a benchmark hotel school. Les Tables Vatel is an institution on the Bordeaux gastronomic scene. Once inside this lovely architectural setting, you’ll discover a secret patio framed by a remarkable green wall. The terrace is intimate, discreet and exotic… What’s more, chef Adrien Ferran and his students are cooking up some of the tastiest dishes around!
📍114-115, quai des Chartrons, 33300 Bordeaux
4. Le Bar de la Marine
Behind the Cité du Vin, in the heart of the Bacalan district, the typical façade of a local bistro hides an oasis of greenery. More than just a guinguette-style terrace, it’s a veritable living space for the most curious Bordeaux residents. On the program: get-togethers, themed evenings and drunchs (brunch with a “D” for Sunday). At last, a convivial, no-frills terrace!
📍28 rue Achard, 33 000 Bordeaux
5. Les Chantiers de la Garonne
On the right bank, opposite Darwin, stands Les Chantiers de la Garonne. This atypical Bordeaux terrace is reminiscent of the idyllic Dunes du Pilat. With your feet in the sand, facing the Palais de la Bourse, you can enjoy oysters and a glass of wine. All away from prying eyes…
📍Parc d’Activités des Queyries, 21 Quai de Queyries, 33100 Bordeaux
