
As in previous years, this celebration promises to be festive, grandiose and magical! To celebrate the Year of the Wooden Snake – a symbol of wisdom and renewal – the city of Bordeaux invites you to join us on Sunday, February 2 at 2.30pm!
Chinese New Year: the procession route
Make way for colorful lions and dragons! If you were planning a day of shopping this Sunday, we’d advise you to postpone. The procession will pass through many of the city center’s streets, which may disrupt streetcar and bus traffic.
A unique experience awaits Bordeaux residents from 2.30pm onwards at the Place de la Victoire, where a procession will set off with a dance of dragons and lions, symbolizing prosperity and good fortune for the coming year. The parade will follow its course through several of Bordeaux’s most emblematic streets, ending at 4:30pm at the miroir d’eau.

This Sunday, February 2, the procession will celebrate the Year of the Wood Snake! In Chinese astrology, the Wood Snake is reputed to be an animal of wisdom and renewal. This new year may well bring us good things! What’s on the program for this Chinese New Year? The famous dances and immersive entertainment. Dancers dressed in colorful costumes will even make their way through the streets to the beat of drums!
A unique atmosphere awaits you in the four corners of Bordeaux, including Place Saint-Projet, Cours du Chapeau Rouge, Place de la Comédie and Quai Maréchal Lyautey. The whole city will be celebrating the Year of the Wooden Snake, which promises many great things to come!
The unmistakable firecrackers that are supposed to ward off evil spirits will also be on hand, taking you all the way to China! A show that will amaze young and old alike.
